1. Lighten up – Replace existing bulbs with 75 watt. The extra light will fill the room with light and brighten the entire house.
2. Trim those hedges – Although a cliché, improving curb appeal will help make a positive first impression.
3. Clean the floors – Vacuum your way out of each room to remove foot print traffic. Prospective tenant will enter the room thinking you cleaned just for them, again creating a great impression.
4. Eliminate odors – Place a shallow bowl of vinegar water in each room overnight to absorb household odors. Remember to remove bowls prior to showings.
5. Create more space – Stage an unfinished basement with a rug, couch, and TV to create additional usable living space. The same can be done to a deck or porch with outdoor furniture.
